About
How I work, before the labels.
Every approach below is in service of the same thing: a space that actually fits what you need, session to session - not a fixed script.
-
Feeling truly heard
A space to think out loud without being steered. No agenda beyond understanding what's actually going on for you, and helping you hear your own thinking more clearly. You set the pace - I won't rush you toward answers.
Person-centred -
Practical tools
Structured, evidence-based ways to notice unhelpful thought patterns and shift them - useful when anxiety or low mood has a repetitive, gripping quality that talking alone doesn't loosen.
CBT -
Room to feel it, and move
Making peace with difficult feelings rather than fighting them, while staying connected to what actually matters to you - so life doesn't have to wait for the difficult feelings to disappear first.
ACT -
Forward-focused
Goal-oriented conversations for direction, decisions, and change - closer to coaching, grounded in therapeutic practice. A good fit when you know something needs to shift but not quite what.
Coaching
In practice
Most sessions draw on more than one of these depending on what's useful that week. You don't need to know which approach you want - that's something we figure out together, starting with the free chat.
