From design studios to the therapy room - same curiosity, different craft.

I spent years leading creative teams before training as a counsellor. Both, it turns out, are about paying close attention to people: what they need, what they're not quite saying, and how to build something that actually holds them.

My working life started in design - as a graphic designer, then a creative project lead, then a freelance project manager running delivery across UX/UI and e-commerce work. Along the way, I kept finding myself drawn to the human side of every project: the conversations underneath the deadlines.

Volunteering as a mentor and food-distribution volunteer made that pull impossible to ignore, and I began training in counselling alongside my creative work - building up through Levels 2 and 3 before completing my CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and my COP certificate.

“I believe good therapy feels less like a diagnosis and more like being properly listened to.”

I'm currently on placement with Spurgeons Charity, working with adults both online and face to face - alongside my private practice here. That combination of structured clinical placement and independent client work keeps me grounded in real, ongoing practice, not just theory.

Years spent solving problems creatively taught me to sit with ambiguity, notice patterns, and hold space for something to take shape before it's fully formed - all of which turned out to be exactly the skills good therapy needs too.
